By Phoenix of Elder Mountain – Greetings moon lovers, dreamers, healers, artists and spiritual seekers… Its been one whole month since our super-eclipse on August 21st and I hope that your intentions that day were brought forth. Many people do not understand that eclipses bring forth the new cycle of the next season and its flavoring. But this eclipse was a major shift and what is to come.
We enter this new season with the first of Three New Moons of Autumn that beings on Tues/Wed Sept. 19/20, 2017 (at 27 degrees 27 minutes of Virgo, in the seasonal Libra Moon cycle). This coincides with the Autumn Equinox which starts Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 (1:02 pm.) Equinoxes and Solstices are our four “changing moons” of the whole seasonal year within the 13 moons of the year. Each moon cycle has different energy with different effects on us as empaths and dreamers. Its very subtle, but the more you practice the moon intentions, the more you begin to recognize the imbalances in order to have emotional stability and strength.
The Oracle for this New Moon is VIRGO 27 – The Magician Disrobes
We bear a dream within us and in this dream, we can magically disperse every partisan consideration and make the truth – a common-sensical shareable thing. We endow this dream with more of our self, than any outwardly existing reality and slowly foster its seeds. We endow the dream with our heart’s aspirations and when we give it our all, the dream comes true. But until that point, we are worlds apart, just harboring a dream of separation.
Autumn begins the season of the long journey of letting go (in lunar terms), and is nature’s change of letting herself die to be reborn again in Spring. She shows us the very first beginnings of the Season of Night (autumn and winter), and long ago, the ancient rituals to guide us through the next six moons of the year for our emotional well being, for our diversity of night dreaming and our emotional stability within relationship.
This is the time we begin to enter our inner magic along with the thinning of the veils of nature and the atonement with our own nature. The first moon of Autumn shifts into a slow waning of the light into our seen or unconscious shadow – so we can see why we struggle and suffer, by becoming conscious. Not everyone is a dreamer and an empath and most of this work is for us. For those of you who are more earthy or mind-body, you can still extract some small advances with this practice. Because most great healers know that… we cannot heal anything we are not aware of or in other words, our blind spots require healing work and support to awaken to our own struggles.
This lunar month has five planets all in Virgo: Venus, Mars, Mercury, Sun and Moon. These are all the personal planets, and its a lot of Virgo energy for a Libra Moon cycle. This means life is pressuring us to focus on our “health” within our “relationships” and practice this with some grace and respect verses drama and vindication. Whether our issues rise from intimate relationships, family, friends, spiritual circle relationships or working relationships, we can apply some healthy behaviors (restraint and patience) to the problems that surface.
I had my dream last night for this moon cycle: I am walking on a path in nature and a small fire was there in the middle of the path, so I got a bucket of water and poured it on the small fire starting and spreading. It was out and then I went for a swim in a pool right next to the path. This simple dream gives guidance up till the full moon. The simpler the dream, the more powerful the message.
Your dreams the night or two nights before the new moon will give you extra insight as well, about your month to come. So those of you who keep a moon-dream journal with us here, make note. Also put a star around those dreams, and see how next years first moon of Autumn shows a similarity. Awareness in dreaming is the one of the goals and we become stronger in our dreams at night when we also apply clear awareness (sober awareness) to our waking dreams.
The season now turns golden along with the red-warmth of the trees and the cooler temperatures as the Season of Night (autumn and winter) begins. This brings another part of us forth, our non-physical life of our emotions, our soul and our dreaming. We now get to remember the warmth of summer only as a memory – as the fire in our belly grows stronger and stronger for winter.
In mythology, Emese is the Hungarian Ancestress of the Árpád (860-870 ce) which is a legend from her dreaming. She saw herself becoming impregnated by the Turul bird, as it had appeared to her in a dream and told her that from her womb the great River flowed. The Turul bird as with all bird symbolism, represents the flight of our soul (it’s growth) and its relationship to the power of our will which is our mental body (beliefs and thoughts). What struggles we have within, between our body and soul, between our mind-body and our mind and soul, is reflected outwards in our real life.
A touch of cold
in the Autumn night
I walked abroad, and
saw the ruddy moon
lean over a hedge,
like a red-faced farmer.
I did not stop to speak
but nodded and round about
were the wistful stars with
white faces (like town children).
When we change seasons from the season of Fire (spring and summer), into the season of Night, we enter a time of the breaking down of some of our will, in order to raise our insight, foresight and second sight – so our rivers (emotions) may begin to flow. Healthy Libra’s inter-personal relationships within community is called “right relationship” and even
I even ventured out with Burnt Stone and joined a circle which reviewed the artwork for the next We’Moon yearly calendar. I met a lot of really great people and it was nice be invited to a social event after four years of not socializing at all. Being supported and attending creative-spiritual related circles and healing circles is very good for our soul. Its wise today to make sure its more intimate, and that you are careful not to enter the more shadowy sides of the Reiki sex-energy circles or the ever present ego filled philosophical spiritual circles with many vampires leading them. In other words, be more discerning about your spiritual journey, and who you sit in circles with.
Everyone likes to be social and party sometimes, but to party like your 18 when you are 38 or 48, will dampen your soul energy. That can even be a peyote circle or shaman drug/plant experiences, it sucks and dries the soul moisture body right up. It doesn’t do that to the mind/body, so be wise. Try to be clear like you were at 12 years old again, it makes such a huge difference when dealing with adult issues. It also helps us find our groundedness more often, but its much harder to do. That is what real spiritual journeys are… much harder. I say this because this is a moon of emotional health within all our relations.
The main point of these writings are for you to set your new moon intention as a practice, just chose one. Goal is you in relationship to your world but intentions are you in relation to your inner self. Then when the full moon comes, set one ‘release’ intention based upon what surfaced over the two weeks. A part of you that no longer serves your highest good.
Chose “one” Intention for the New Moon of Libra (27 Virgo):
I am positive
I AM LOVING
I am doing the best I can
I AM BALANCED
my desires are healthy
I VALUE MY NEEDS
I balance my desires
I TRUST MYSELF
I have clear judgment
I AM BEAUTIFUL
I listen with integrity
I AM RECEPTIVE (if your too giving)
I am giving (if your too receptive)
I AM INDEPENDENT
I accept my weakness with strength
I approve of myself
I AM DISCERNING
I accept where I am right now today (denial work)
I AM CLEAR MINDED (Libra is an air sign)
I am empowered
I AM IN RIGHT RELATIONSHIP WITH MYSELF
I am beautiful
I AM PEACEFUL (or CALM)
I am comfortable
I AM DIPLOMATIC
I am graceful
I AM POSITIVE
So, take charge of your issues or let them continue into an abyss that lasts forever…
P.S. The last few years I have also sent my Marzanna Slavic Ritual out at this time, but I decided to send the instructions out on the Winter Solstice instead, for those who wish to participate in this ritual again.
