By Phoenix – Greeting dreamers, healers, artists and empaths, we begin our Second Moon of Winter on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019. We move from a fire element to an earth element, so our groundedness will be supported energetically. The serious and somber Capricorn moon expresses its opposition in the Cancer energy and that makes for a month of support, nurturing and winter activities.
Home, family, personal responsibility, reaping of autumn’s harvest, tradition, authority and celebrations of Midwinter all infused in our memories, our emotions and our desire. This is a cycle of striving for stability, unless there is a bucket of planets in Capricorn which can make the energy a little more unstable. In this moon cycle, we do have a bucket. (see chart below)
Whatever you are working on right now for your health, improvements in your behaviors, commitment to disciplines, better communication, the solstice time helps us find this mark, so lets make an agreement to work with the seriousness of our health. While most people focus on New Years day as a time for new beginning of deep changes, but the cycle of change actually spans from the winter solstice to the summer solstice.
If you make a new years resolution of some kind, make it for six months, one moon at a time to be more successful. And focus on only one thing to heal, even if you have ten.
The Midwinter Oracle
Seeing your Breath in the Cold Morning Light. You have a previous lifetime, and our life you reflects this up until today. That motion has allowed every experience and every important person you have met in your life to manifest. But our destiny is in the opposite, and sooner or later, life knocks on our destiny’s door with new experiences to make us change. We do not like change as human beings, but most times, we have no choice.
When karma is standing at destiny’s doorway, we struggle, we fall, we stumble and we fear. We do not want this to last longer than our own strength and determination. But what if it does? Solutions?
When we begin to bow and accept difficulty in our life, by truly embracing it with loving arms, then our whole life begins to change (with that approach). When we truly accept and begin to see our faults, our struggle and difficulty as a very important part of our spiritual or life path, we begin to embrace our shadow to heal it.
We accept our resistance, struggles and sicknesses so easily rather than change and allow a nurturing life to replace our old behaviors. When we tell ourselves its time to actually welcome growth initiations of struggle and pain, brought to us through our life, then we learn what life is about… a deeper overcoming which leads to self love.
Our patterns of karma is easy to see with a trained eye and if we really pay attention. This requires great focus, which requires long periods of meditation to slow down the mental body. We know deep inside when we are young what we should and shouldn’t do. The older we get, its easier to deny it because we avoid pain. What depth are you willing to embrace in order to change and grow? We all start off with ‘a little’ and build from there.
This month we have a lineup of planets close together in a bucket: Mercury at 25 Sagittarius, Moon and Sun, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. This is a lot of masculine energy (except for the the moon). Its less emotional and more action based. So if you are going to open a box of Pandora Cookies this moon, make sure you are prepared with conviction, stamina, support and ethics of what you desire or what you need to communicate.
For things that are overwhelming for you right now, seek support, a friend, a therapist, someone you trust and share your problem, so you can be safe, grounded and make it until spring. Most people want to help, all you have to do is be brave enough to ask for help.
What are you committed to this moon cycle, and how much are you willing to fight your shadow to achieve it? The Winter Moons and our walking through them, is comparable to this poem…
“January is the quietest month in the garden.
But just because it looks quiet doesn’t mean
that nothing is happening. The soil, opens to
the sky, absorbs the pure rainfall while
microorganisms convert tilled-under fodder
into usable nutrients for the next crop of plants.
The feasting earthworms tunnel along,
aerating the soil and preparing it to
welcome the seeds and bare roots to come.”
– Rosalie Muller Wright, Editor of Sunset Magazine
If you want something in your life to change, then the internal processes must include a commitment between you and your goal, through your intentions. In antiquity, the sacred marriage in spiritual terms was the commitment between body and soul and mind and emotions. This requires great effort and you are worth that effort to find peace and health.
