Greetings to my favorite Dreamers, Artists, Mystics, Wolf Mothers and Children of the Moon…  We are entering the 3rd and final moon of Summer which begins Tuesday, August 2, 2016 – Remember that 2 1/2 days before the actual new moon, your synchronicity and signs for the month will start to appear and for the other half, it will be 2 1/2 days before the full moon, so keep your soul eyes open and listen to your dreams…

I heard from many that the last moon cycle was pretty challenging and for those who were able to escape it’s escalates, that was a blessing. Now it is time to close the doorways of the 2nd Moon of Summer’s doors and step into our next moon cycle. I had some clients this past month who followed their intuition and paid attention to the signs and choices they had to make, with deeper listening. I hope that all of you fared as well and if not, there is always this moon’s work.

Leo moons are very honorable to the point of self-pride, but we can always return to equanimity if we slow down, contemplate, respond and ground our important choices and decisions based on our health or our families health and that is not easy in real life. Fire moons are not easy to handle because they are quickening, especially if we personally have a fire moon or sun (sign). Unlike the fires of Sagittarian Moons in the winter, its impulsiveness is for a good reason, for winter’s survival. Leo moons are a very different kind of fire, this energy helps us to understand our own creativity, our own inner child’s  needs – who may have been through too much when we were younger and it comes back around to haunt us.

For those who have children, we learn to recognize that they too have their own unique path, especially when they are teenagers, which is very different from our own childhood if we look at it with perspective. On the lovers path, even the inner child can surface here, so if it does, just be supportive with your nature or forgiving. Our healthy emotional path is always about an expression of our truth with less drama and that is a fine balancing act. It is also about practicing flexibility with a purpose.

new moonThere are some roads in life that we travel and can always remain safe, even in crisis. Then there are the netherworld roads that some of us must travel, which do not offer any safety. Our personal tests in life are what we can handle as a soul, and there is a very good reason why we do our spiritual practices (when times are calm) so they kick in when times are not calm. We are better enabled through our practices of healing work such as energy work, or any holistic healing or practices such as meditation, yoga, to deal with struggles better, because we are prepared through actual practices, not thought and will ideology. In the Tao Practices of the Bugang, we guard the “One” who is the Guardian, the guardian is that part of us that is our dharma soul (no karma). Through the concentrative meditations, we do our practices first to settle the “first-self” in order to be still enough to become aware of the “second-self”. The second self is split in two, the karmic soul and our emotional body. When we awaken enough, the second self then must then deal with the karma in our lives and the balance of using emotions in both a creative way and a calming way to heal drama. Again, none of this is easy, seven years of meditation is enough of a solid practice to hold the emotional bodies fluctuations and begin to tap into what is causing the disruptions (waves or emotions that go too high and too low).

If we are not awake yet or trying to awaken, the first-self (the mental body) cannot see outside our protective bubble, as our shadow and their behaviors actually do live outside this bubble in varying degrees. This is why those of us who do our own healing work choose to engage with our shadow to call this part of our self out and make it accountable every single day. We seek these personal unconscious behaviors and hunt them down like a huntress of the moon. We all help each other along, with bitching or with loving ways when it comes to our emotions.

Fiery Sunny  Leo, you are a Child of the Moon and if it takes a village to raise a child, then our inner child will take 20 villages to return lost parts of self from never, never land which is the etheric world of the past and their memories. Where is your never, never land? And what did you lose there?

Our etheric body, ether or æther body, is a name for the subtle body of the lowest layer in the “human energy field” (emotional body). It is in immediate contact with our physical body, to sustain it and connect it with “higher” bodies (soul bodies). In mythology its called the fountain of youth or the well-spring. The inner child’s etheric body becomes fragmented and must be guided back home inside the self for us to be whole. Most of the time, this work can be done by us, at the midlife transformation age (37-44). This is what traditional shaman’s call soul retrievals, where we are fragmented or separated from a real wound of our past through difficult relationships or experiences. This Leo moon cycle is a very good time to check in with our inner child to make sure she or he is safe, happy, being paid attention to with love, support and protection.

So, how do we work with this Fire moon in a positive way. First by addressing where is our attention on any given day, is it scattered, is it focused? How focused are you right now in your spiritual practices? Write them down so you can actually see how many times a month your actually doing healing or practices, because the mind is very tricky into fooling us that just ‘thinking’ about doing is actual doing, when its not.

Our spiritual practices by nature (along with their release processes) helps us unplugging from the intense external world and it’s never-ending-story of the “busy mind”, “busy thoughts”, “busy body” which weakens us to such malevolent forces. When we lack daily or weekly spiritual practices to “check in” with ourselves, it becomes very difficult to manage the slowing down of “busy” especially after 40 years old when it becomes a challenge but its more important.

If we truly wish in real terms, learn to follow our intuition, hear the small inner voice and to see our signs & warnings within our busy world and put them into action, then each moon cycle we can sacrifice just a little bit of busy, and replace it with active choices of practicing inner peace. Leo Moons, unlike Leo Suns, comes with shadow, mostly because its in opposition to the  erratically mirrors of Aquarian energy who rules the rebel without a cause (especially now that Uranus is still in Aries), or the constant changeability of his vision’s development, the fixed nature of his stubbornness and control.

My first two sign of the Leo new moon came today, with a dream last night, a small group of shadow sorcerers were causing some problems. The second message was after I woke up, was an email from a local messenger here in town shared and was wondering if I knew that a black (shadow) magician had entered the town causing some trouble. I replied…  well I do now, thank you. As a dreamer, it is my responsibility to share openly about how shadow healing and protection works to help others, to help those who have difficulties because of their sensitive nature, the sensitives, the dreamers, healers, artists, seers – who all need to understand the psychopomp story, both its light and dark sides. In real life, we have our storms and our sunny days and there is no shame in expressing both as long as we heed to the message, the warning or the appropriate re-balancing in our lives.  In the Mercury realms of a Gemini Sag Moon cycle, it is the messenger who is important. In the realms of a Leo Moon cycle, it is the one who experiences, that is important.

This moon, healing our inner child is important regardless of age or situations, whether we have had a drug induced trauma as teen, rotten parents who we haven’t forgiven, or physical and mental abuses or issues that hold in self bondage. There are a few things in all traditions both spiritual paths, healing paths and all religions that holds true, and that is forgiveness with sober clarity. We can heal our inner child a little bit every Leo Moon cycle, and make one step further this moon and for many moons, we have to just become aware of what is the issue and healing needed of our inner child.

Healing can be permanent if you only would believe ...

3rd New Moon of Summer – Goddess:

“The awakening self is a Lamp; protect it and after you’ve left each storm, come to the fountain; you’ll find a friend there who will always nourish your soul.” If we turn to creativity, artistic pursuits, play, swimming in the river, joyful activities and warmth of the heart when things are heavy in our life’s releases, we then fill our Magic Lantern with a light that remind us we can have some fun for fun’s sake like when we were children. I chose for this moon cycle, the Etruscan Goddess Tesana who’s symbolism is the season of the great harvest (earth’s fertility), abundance, opportunity and the important aspects of restoration and replenishment.

Tesana means ‘dawn’ so too her symbol, the twilight who lives between night and day, an in-between the worlds goddess. Her color is red, the element of fire (spirit) and the harvesting of fruit (physical). As the first rays of light begin to reach through the night’s darkness, Tesana is here, offering us a better tomorrow and the warmth of a new day through restoration.

Mnarja is her primary folk festival in Malta  and originated as the orange and lemon harvesting celebrations. The name Mnarja means ‘illumination’ and her ritual fires were ignited, symbolically meaning to continue our hearth fires burning and Leo is a good moon for this symbol. So, light a candle one morning in honor of the goddess (mother earth) and your own abundance this month and invoke a kind of magic to really recognize what you need this month.

The Generous Invitation to the Marriage of the Spirit of the North’s Wisdom: “The Midnight Sun” Kolyadky and Auseklis

If writing is the invention of the language of the mind and all that comes with that… prior to history, symbolism was the language of the soul and all that comes with that.

kolyadkyIt is the root language of the empaths, the dreamers, the artists and the shamans which existed long before any creation of the runes, the alphabet or any written language and even the symbolism of paganism. The communications of our “subtle bodies” (our souls) or the “bones” is an “emotional” and energetic language expressed through the language of images, dreams, art, symbolism, imagination (manifestation of image) and intuitive energetic intelligence such as synchronicity and natural magic (nature).

It is our origin language, a dreamer indigenous language of our soul, who others call the “unconscious”. Some of us are conscious and work with our soul and that makes all the difference in understanding this life giving language.

Most people today do not concern themselves with any pre-religious or pre-pagan traditions, and why should they, these are grandmother and women’s traditions and for 7,000 years its been a teaching to corrupt and fear them inter-weaved together. But now that the next two ages come for the next 7,000 year cycle (Age of Aquarius and Age of Capricorn), women are no longer by the shift of consciousness of mother earth are bound to such laws and rules anymore.

But dreamers need to understand our empathic and old soul natures of prehistory for their own future. This is a path of a full spiritual journey (not just mind-body) and the thirst this lifetime starts from birth and lasts our whole entire life. In the beginning ages of the last 7,000 years it was body & soul (sun & moon), in the last 2,500 years it was body & mind (sun). Now we enter Soul & Nature again (Earth & Moon) and it is self understanding and reclaiming, first our human and its karma and then our nature (animism, celestial and elemental).

For most old souls it will just be a flexing of such reality, taking back what fairy tales and legends stole from us. Believing but not really believing (experiences) and to understand prehistory rites and movements with nature of symbolism, dreaming symbolism (not dream symbolism and there is a huge difference). And the subtle ritualistic art of dreamtime as a real language. 

My focus is on one of the symbols of my ancestors which is called the “Star” or what was in prehistory the “Midnight Sun” – its equaled to the ancient Swastika and Sauwastika but with dual doorways instead of single arms and doors. This has to do with the consciousness (of mysticism) called nature herself, connected to the equinoxes, the winter solstice traditions before paganism was based on nature’s teachings, not human. That is why its only retained in art and artistic expressions.

The Auseklis – Midnight Sun, Goddess of the Dawn (now called a Star) and in Ukraine traditions, its called the Mysteries of Kolyadky…

This Midnight Sun (or Star as its called), is the The Season of Night which is Autumn and Winter. It is also the Season of Fire – Spring and Summer. I live within this prehistory dreamers language in my shaman’s life and my healing wok, dreaming life and each moon cycle and how it effects dreams, dreaming and dreamtime.

AuseklisOne of the symbols sacred to the Latvian Balkan, is the Auseklis – The Midnight Sun, Goddess of the Dawn (now called a Star). In Ukraine tradition, its called the Mysteries of Kolyadky. The Aurora (Auseklis) is the Midnight Sun, Goddess of the Dawn is the oldest of all Slavic and Balkan countries symbols and its meaning, even older than all the pagan gods. It has magical meanings in Latvian folklore of the ancient understanding of the secrets of magical nature, the magical self in relationship to nature. If your bed sheets are covered with this symbols then bed sheet protect though the symbol the dreamer from any shadow or evil wandering souls in the vicinity. The symbol is also associated with ancient medicine, the straight or turned cross style. Auseklis is used commonly in folk and peasant usage of the Latvian culture. This is the most important ancient symbol to them, which is with the references of the night. In Latvia, its the Night Sun or Midnight Star as it is associated with Winter, the Winter Solstice and the protection from evil and shadows of the underworld.

From Dawn Maid and Sun Maid: Celestial Goddesses among the Proto Indo Europeans by Miriam Robbins Dexter Antioch University, she writes: “The Indo-European Dawn Goddess appears in Northern Indo-European, particularly in Baltic folk songs. Proto-Indo-European Aus-tero gave rise to several cognate dawn goddesses, including Lithuanian AuSra, Latvian Auseklis, Old Prussian Ausca, and Roman Aurora. Throughout these folklore and mythology, the Goddess of the Dawn is often perceived as a woman and the Latvian daiqas, or folk songs, excuses are made for the late arrival of the dawn goddess.

Auseklis [is] in Germany; She is sewing velvet skirts. The Lithuanian dawn goddess AuSra is often called AuSrelt (dear dawn), employing the very common Lithuanian diminutive of endearment. She is also called AuSrint a form which utilizes the adjectival suffix; AuSrinis means ‘morning’ and AuSrint Zvaigzdt is the ‘morning star. The Latvian Goddess of Dawn in Baltic myth, was the Mother of Mēness The Moon God.

The moon was either married to Saule, the Sun Goddess, or her daughter, Saules Meita. In another folk song, Saule has given her daughter to Ausekis’ son. The Slavic Goddess of the Dawn, Zarya is not linguistically cognate with her Baltic sisters. The moon god, according to Gimbutas, was unstable; not only did he fall in love with the daughters of the sun, in Latvian myth, he also married Saule herself and fell in love with Ausrine as well.”

Perhaps the most curious of the Kolyadki is a Carpathian song in which we find the following description:

Once there was neither heaven nor earth,
Heaven nor earth, but only blue sea, and
in the midst of the sea there were two oaks,
There sat there, two birds,
Two birds on the two oaks,
and they began to take
counsel among themselves,
to take counsel and to say…

“How can we create the world?”

Let us go to the bottom of the sea,
Let us bring thence fine sand,
Fine sand and blue stone.

We will sow the fine sand,
We will breathe on the blue stone.
From the fine sand the black earth,
the cool waters, the green grass.

From the blue stone the blue heavens,

We find a similar motif of Aurora in the primitive Sardinia, Italian language that Aurora, which is equivalent to Greek Ἕως, the rosy-fingered goddess, is no coincidence the Romans made it the hypostasis of gold (aurum > Aurora) for the splendor with which it appears. But aurum > Aurora was only a paronomasia, as the Latins had lost its oldest meaning, which turns out even in the Sumerian language, from a’u ‘one who drags ships, boats’ + ru ‘structure ‘+ ra ‘sun, splendor of the sun’: A’u-ru-ra which means: ‘She who pulls the boat of the Sun’ or life giving sun of the waking human life. Ἕως has the same origin, by Sumerian e ‘take out’ + u ‘sleep’, meaning ‘(the one who) brings out of sleep (the Sun)’.

Aurora is the Sun Goddess, but when the patriarch began to change all mythology into their new mythology she became the wife or consort and the male ended up in a higher status as the all life giving Sun God and from him all the gods rose, like Helios, Apollo, Mars, etc. The Aurora or Auseklis – The Midnight Sun, Goddess of the Dawn has magical meaning in Latvian folklore and it means you understand the secrets of magical nature, the magical self in relationship to nature. Latvian Auseklis at her root, is a Celestial Goddess, collective rather than personal goddess or woman self-hood, and she and her symbol has much power, but like any ancient symbol, you do not get its power, you must match its power within your life and that is a long and painful journey. No symbol is power given, it must be completely earned and most times its given power by peoples shadow (their need for attention, jester or magic tricks for attention, the ego, false strength of the warrior etc). These are all superficial and not in harmony with the feminine and goddess from which they were birthed. The symbol represents the complex eight-sided star, which must be drawn in one continuous line without lifting your hand to receive the benefit of his blessings.

Simplest form of star is simple cross which symbolizes as elements, the Fire and the Light which are basically the same thing, called Spirit. Pagan Latvians believes that magical rituals can be performed with this symbol and it often has a great meaning to those who use it in a sacred way

During late paganism eras (after the 8th-10th century), with the influences of Christian and Catholic Religions, the Midnight Star has been called Koliada in Ukraine and other Slavic and Balkan pagan winter traditions, which is most important as ancient winter ceremonies and celebrations and then later into Christmas and Christian Religions. The Midnight Sun (star) as a simple art image today, in the basic Christmas ritual.

The main attribute of Christmas and the Mysteries of Kolyadky is since ancient times, as it was pagan octagonal star, called by the ancestors as Sura (from al-atar “white or heat-combustible”) in Ukraine. Star-Sura is a Ukrainian eight pointed star which represents the eight major cycles of nature within the four seasons. Its characteristics are within folk ornamentation, especially the Hutsul. Overall, this symbol is found in every area of folk art in Ukrainian pysanky, Ukrainian embroidery, folk carving, etc. Esoteric, Sura is oktahramu: projection diamond (heavenly light) to the square (the material world) and their mutual peresikannya. It connects all corners of the world and marks the absolute balance, harmony and balance, making a powerful healing effect.

23To understand any spiritual teaching of earth at its root, one must walk backwards into the past and prehistory of self, not the present or knowledge and definitely not forward or the future. To understand ancient cultures rituals before 3,000 bce (grandfather’s patriarch), information can be found only in three ways: 1. Visions and Out of Bodies, 2. Peasant folktales, folk songs and 3. Ancient art and pieces of remaining Folk art. One question is: “Were the origins of the Winter Solstice Ceremonies Dances or Songs or both” ?Koleda is always celebrated with Carolers, but the root of the term “Carol” actually refers to “dancing” rather than its common connotation regarding song or singing. In Old French, “carole” is translated to “dance.” Similarly, in both Latin (choraula) and Greek (choraules) the root of the term means “to dance with the accompaniment of flute”. Thus caroling can actually be traced to more archaic traditions of solstice ritual dance much like kukeri, the bear dances or mummer’s purification dances (in some purer villages) in its shamanic roots.

In Pre-Christian eras, Northern Europeans and Eastern Europeans would travel in order to join together to sing and dance in honor of the sacredness of the Winter Solstice. Although after the 13th century most carols centered around religion or pagan celebrations. These dances were directly birthed from the sacred shamanic dances of women that occurred during the winter moons of the time of peace when the oceans became calm and they were joined in dreaming by all their shaman and sacred sisters around the earth, called dream incubation of the cave eras.

Before wars descended upon the earth, men also had their essential roles and parts in the great rituals of the tribe and clans. Their rites (like most cultures) are historically viewed as war dances, but in actuality there was no war-based intentions in their origins, that was propaganda, a myth projected as real when they were just dances.Kolyadki Winter Midnight Sun Goddess Kievskaya Vasilisa Kolyadki akvarely cvetnye karandashiThe ancient tradition of creating art is also an important path, as both talisman (to be worn) and amulet (to be placed or hung) has also been carried on in Slavic traditions of Christmas. As the Christian stories of the “Son of God” gained cultural momentum, the symbols often found on these amulets and talismans lost their reference to the fertility of both the Fire Goddess (of the summer solstice) and her twin mirror the Night Goddess (of the winter solstice) and her heavenly fertility.

Although the original meaning of the Midnight Sun was displaced, the symbol remains present in Slavic celebrations due to tendency of Slavs and Balkans to bring their own traditions into Christianity rather than lose them. As religion became the leading influence of commerce for artisans, traditional craftsmen and women were given work to change these ancient symbols and adapt them to support both the new power of religion and male power in general. The work of these artisans combined with the domination of written pagan-god culture is what ultimately transformed the meaning of these shamanic symbols.

Północ Gwiazda (101)The verb ‘koliadovat’ means to go from door to door, singing ritual songs, asking for sweets and the pagan aspects of wearing animal masks. Koliada is the time between Korochun (the Winter Solstice) and the first week of January. Lighted fires and candles are to light the darkest time of the year which was to echo the ancient pagan custom of banging the sparks from the burning Budnik ritual log, that is lit up at Koliada, much like the English Yule log. Sviatky in Russia is equivalent to yuletide and is celebrated in January where all the young girls and women in the family would practice folk divination, which is mostly melted wax into a water bowl.

Koliada in its older traditions is the name of a cycle of winter rituals that aligns with the new moon stemming from the ancient Calendae. The modern term of children and caroler’s singing is called kolyadovannya in Ukrainian and is now applied to similar Old East Slavic celebrations. In Bulgarian and Macedonian traditions of koleduvane (коледуване) or koledarenje (коледарење) which are also around Christmas and the Kolyadka (songs) are sung as well.

Koleda is also celebrated across northern Greece by the Slavs of Macedonia in Florina to Thessaloniki which is called Koleda (Κόλιντα, Κόλιαντα) and Koleda Babo (Κόλιντα Μπάμπω) which means “Koleda Grandmother” in Slavic and this directly ties Koleda (Winter Solstice) to the Winter Goddess Marzana making it the most archaic Koleda. This is a ritual of gathering in the village square and lighting a bonfire, followed by local Macedonian dancing. There is also a dance from Dubrovnik called “The Dubrovnik Koleda.”

Północ Gwiazda (92)Wigilia is the traditional Polish Christmas eve celebrations and sometimes called “gwiazdory” which is reference to the “Star” carriers. Before the 11th century they were all pagan celebrations and rituals and the oral traditions which were passed down for millenniums for generation to generation were lost and all we have left is a very small narrow culture of religious songs that lack the mystery. Poland’s Koledy, like other Slavic countries still bright Star along with the singers and folk musician spreading seasonal good wishes.

Hieroglyphs, Petroglyphs, Cave Drawings, Ancient and Contemporary Art, Esoteric, Divination and even major business logo’s all draw from nature-based symbols (images of artists and dreamers) and contain a root language of our past and our souls journey. Traditional oral stories can be traced to these sources of images throughout history and prehistory and their original meanings can be understood when one recognizes symbolic language as their “first language.” Symbolism as a tool, has been birthed forth from sacred dreamers, shamans and artists since the dreamers societies and this continues today in a less elaborate and less powerful and less meaningful shamanic ceremony. But at least fragments still exist and can be built upon for the future.

The Sun Goddess (in both Balkan and Slavic cultures) has a far more ancient symbolic meaning, than what is used in today’s rituals of the recent pagan past. In the past several thousand years her symbol evolved to be regarded as a “star” and this is a relatively recent concept. Prior to the evolution of astronomy, astrology, science and religion, the eight pointed star (associated with the Sun Goddess and Goddesses like Ishtar, Tanit and some older archaic goddesses) it represented the Midnight Sun of the Winter Solstice here on earth, not in the sky and that is the most important of all.

One later example is the early Medieval Slavic Moravia Magna (Moravian Empire) and it’s 8 pointed Vesna symbol which looks like a “flower”. Vesna is the Goddess of life, beauty, love and the spring and asscociated with the Goddess Lada.

Because the earth was woman’s only focus prior to men’s teachings (paganism and religion) the symbols and images belonging to woman’s prehistory were actually quite different and in many ways an opposition of what we have today in the meanings of symbols. If we release the associations created through these dominant teachings of the Sun Cults (which began to around 2,200 bce) we can begin to see the symbols come alive and express a more healing and magical meaning, which came forth from women weaving connectedness to the immediate surroundings and to accepting the dark winters without rushing to bring any light forth ahead of spring. In these ways we were accepting of the dark night and the time of silence. We were accepting to go inward and enter the night forest of mother earth and to heal the deepest during this time.

postIf we look at the Rozhy as a sacred symbol, which emerged from ancient earth-focused artists (who were generally the healers and enactors of rituals and leadership)  we can see that the eight-pointed Ruzha (ружа) is not a “star” but a “flower”. The Rozhy (mallow flowers) are so often similar to the eight-pointed star motif that during the shift from feminine to masculine-dominated teachings to see everything linear, the flower took on the connotation of the solar god and began to be regarded as a representation of the sun itself. Today this symbol still represents the feminine, and woman’s sensitivities of the beauty of nurturing, and symbolizes love and caring for others. The Sun Goddess’s symbol, which retains both the meaning of the “Sun” and “Flower” allows us to trace its origin to the archaic symbol of the “Fire Flower.”

One of the most beautiful symbols of the Winter Solstice (which remains passed down from a direct lineages of the Matriarchal structures) is the 8 pointed Midnight Sun (or Fire Flower) that is carried atop a ritual staff by Ukrainian carolers at Christmas. Long ago shamanic ritual and Fire Dances would have accompanied these singers in their solstice celebration. The names of the Mallow flower (which is representative of the Fire Flower) in various Slavic and Balkan countries are:

In China, the mallow flower is called the “power of magic” for its abilities to ward off shadows and shadow-natured humans who walk between the worlds. A similar reference is found in Polish mythology which mentions Fire Flowers in much of their folklore. The ritual of the Vesta is a distinct Fire Flower rite and is a shamanic ritual in origin. The rite of the Fire Flower wasn’t a game or a celebration, but a real shamanic initiation which could last five to twenty years.

In today’s pagan ritual its said that to find the Fire Flower the seeker must enter a forest before midnight on the Eve of Kupala of the Summer Solstice. Blooming precisely at midnight, the brightness of the flower is so brilliant that no person can look at it directly. The reference of both “Flower” and “Midnight” in these stories also connect to the observance of the solstices.

For this powerful flower to be harvested, a circle had to be drawn around it. The seeker would encounter demons who would try to distract or prevent him/her from completing this task. It was said that if you answered the voices, or faltered during the task the cost would be your life. Anyone who succeeded in possessing this flower gained the ability to repel all evils. Thus, within the folklore of this Fire Flower lies the symbolism of the spiritual tests of the Shamans from these regions.

Midnight Sun symbolism of the Winter Dark Goddess

The ancients like myself as a shaman recognize and live by these two seasons: Summer and Winter and when one tries to relearn alignment with the celebration of these two seasons of earth, rather than the four we have come to regard as wholeness, one begins to be in rhythm with the rhythms of their emotional body as the earth herself does. These two-halves of the (whole) year are divided into two :

FIRE (spring-summer / solstice) Light half of the year from Spring to Autumn

NIGHT (autumn-winter / solstice) Night half of the year from Autumn to Spring


These two halves of the year are marked by the solstices and correlate with the north and south axis of Earth. These axis are the gates where dreamers, dream walkers, and soul bodied astral traveling shamans and humans exited and entered the mystical veils of earth (not off earth, like the new 4,000 year teachings of star lore wishes you to believe). Once the pyramids were built on earth, these were to disrupt magnetic energy and  slowly eradicate your dreaming and this ability through the magnetics of your emotional body and soul.

The demarcation of two halves of the year is one of the main differences between prehistory dreaming rituals and tribes and the rituals that have taken their place in the the past 4,000 years. This resulted in the loss of our connection to our dreamer and night dreams as real and powerful  which our astral body crosses back and forth. Woman’s prehistory rites and rituals, link directly to the power of dreaming itself and these celebrations involving the Spring and Autumn Equinox seasons are actually intended for our ordinary and mundane life of the waking world and not for the in-between worlds of the shaman, dreamers or mystics.

Many pagans who observe Halloween and Samhain celebrations would find this odd because (due to the rising power of the men of both Paganism and the Religious Sun cults) much significance has been placed on observing the Equinox and Religions over-took the Solstices and changed them to the mundane world. Nonetheless, the Spring and Autumn Equinox celebrations are important and mark significant turning points in the year, but not the spiritual in-between the worlds’ year.

Another important facet of the Midnight Sun (or reverse sun sometimes called the second sun (core magma of the earth’s center) is its role as symbol of the feminine power of the internal fire and nature’s core of fire. Connected with the archaic Goddess figures of Marzanna and even how she rolled into the Black Madonna, this symbol can be traced back to the lineages of the shaman or cave grandmothers era’s of earth.

The Midnight Sun or Central Sun as some new age groups call it, it is the fire in the belly of the Mother Earth (which is fire). One of the ways to reconnect to the root of Woman’s prehistoric teachings (which have been both lost, destroyed and corrupted) is to reclaim a path of the Powerful Self which is our inner Fire. To do this requires both a healing journey, and a purification process involving working towards the unification of both perception (emotion / souls) and perspective (mind / beliefs) when living our mundane and creative life.

Many of the Singing Carolers of Ukraine carry images and amulets of the Svarha (сварга) or Swastika during the Winter Solstice. But before pagan eras, this symbol denoted the movement of Ursa Major across the heavens and the four seasons in symbol form were the four spinning arms of transformation. As Pagan and then the Sun Cults (religions) came into power the symbol began to represent the Sun’s travel across the sky. In Slavic culture this symbol represented the Midnight Sun of the Dark Goddess (like Marzanna) of the winter and would then in later eras symbolized Dazhboh, a benevolent Sun God, in the Summer.

When i look at modern pagans today of both Slavic and Balkan countries, I see a lot of war loving viking imagery and associations and male dominance in the leadership, I see the same in men’s religions. If women are to heal themselves and work with their soul, they must begin to find a way to incorporate the more personal meanings of the moon, the sun, nature and personal ritual that weaves them together, both with intentions of health and letting go of what no longer serves their spiritual paths.

When the complex multi-spoke designs of the “Star” of Christmas became popularized, the rites of the women and grandmothers were eventually conferred to rituals enacted by children. By the 17th century the star lost most of its reference to its previous symbolic meaning and women were no longer allowed to participate in many of the solstice traditions.

The creation of amulets or star symbols, once used in the shamanic rites of women to protect their villages from shadows, were ultimately demoted to a child’s craft activity of Christmas folk art at local museums or schools. But this will change as more and more Slavic pagans return to their origins peacefully again.

So what is the Midnight Sun?

It is the path of the dreamers, when night is all the time and the Sun goes dormant and regenerates and all the planets go dormant (winter cycle). Or what spiritual people and science calls, the Pole Shift. Science still thinks a star dies in the universe… couldn’t be more far from the truth, for nature is perfect, not humans and everything has its life cycle and rebirth… the other thing science was wrong about is that energy can be destroyed… it can.

SHE BEARS : Hekate, Bendis, Callisto, Artemis, Mielikki, Vanth, Artio, Merope & Blackfoot Bear Woman

“You see and hear that not only in Ephesus, but in almost all of Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away a considerable number of people, saying that gods made with hands are no gods at all. Not only is there danger that this trade of ours fall into disrepute, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis be regarded as worthless and that she whom all of Asia and the world worship will even be dethroned from her magnificence.”  When we heard this, we were filled with rage,we began crying out, saying “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”

The name “Temple of Hadrian” is not really accurate: it is more a monument than a temple, and was dedicated to Artemis and the people of Ephesus. The temple was partially destroyed in the 4th century, and it was during the course of restorations that the four decorative reliefs were added to the lintels of the interior of the porch. In 381, the Christian Emperor Theodosius outlawed pagan cults throughout the empire. Not long after this, a curious relief was added to the so-called Temple of Hadrian and shows the great anti-pagan campaigner Theodosius and his family accompanied by gods including Artemis of Ephesus, Athena and Selene, this is when the first marketing of the feminine was used against the feminine.

The cities of Ephesus, Cyme, Myrine and Smyrna were founded by the Amazons which was an Artemis tradition according to tradition. The temple of Artemis in Ephesus is attributed to Otrere, the queen of the Amazons who raised it for the first time. Ephesus, some recall, was at some point called Smyrna, being so named after an Amazon Smyrna, who took possession of the city. Later the city Smyrna was founded from Ephesus by emigrants from this city. Because of Ephesus and because of their customs, the Amazons are regarded as worshipers and high priestesses of Artemis, a goddess who may assume different forms in its ancient shamanic traditions.

The once great shaman women of prehistory, buried under the piles of great destruction along with our grandmother ancestors forgotten past, whose shamanic cultures and dream cultures faded into obscurity. Grandmothers leadership had retained the connection of animism, dream walking and nature’s primal soul and astral gifts when our souls were all one with nature, the ocean, the real magic of mother earths soul consciousness that even the indigenous has forgotten.



In the evolution of the Goddess, Callisto’s attributes were handed over to Artemis and the quote above, Riot in Ephesus was long after writing was established. There are a few clues left in the writings such as Callisto is a pre-Hellenistic Goddess when Arcadia was invaded by the Greeks who had already destroyed their earlier grandmother cultures, and was regarded as a great She Bear only to be reduced to the lowest status of a Nymph. Merope who was one of the seven sisters of the Pleiades were also all reduced to Nymph and its interesting that two she bear goddesses would have that in common from completely different eras.

In the late 14th century, Nymph was explained as a class of semi-divine female beings from the Old French nimphe (13c.), from Latin nympha “nymph, demi-goddess; bride, mistress, young woman.” The Greeks felt that if they could remove power from the adult women (mothers) and the grandmothers (spiritual leaders) and put the maiden on the throne, he would have full power in society and he was right, it worked because maidens are in love with love and are not powerful like adult women and grandmothers. From the Greek nymphe (which means “bride, or young wife”) was transformed later to “beautiful young woman,” then lastly removing part of her humanness into idol “semi-divine being in the form of a beautiful maiden.”

Even the stories like Sedna and Blackfoot Bear woman are about loss of her traditions that died when the bondage of marriage created great limitation of expression of the greater self, the warrior self, the death and rebirth self the divine ceremonial powers of spiritual leadership of tribe and clan of woman. In Latin its called nubere “to marry, wed” and most women scholars know that the subjugation of bondage a female culturally to marriage and children in the maiden stage, rather than the adult stage.

The great she bear shaman women had lost the ability to protect children, even though some of what was left of Callisto, her own attributes were given over to the Greek goddess Artemis such as the owl, the bear, the moon and the huntress of the great forest. Then she became a nymph who eventually faded away into a much later story called myth and fairy-tales.

Callisto was always the powerful Bear Shaman woman and her powerful medicines of healing, of fierceness when it comes to protection of clan and tribe, of boundaries and making sure children protected, her rituals and rites hidden away from the rising kingdoms couldn’t be hidden forever and then, eventually they were forbidden and then forgotten that women were even the majority of shamans in every culture on earth. Those of us who reemerged into our living memories (visions) and dreams of our greatest ancestresses, their magical wisdom and their connection to mother earth as an indigenous cultures of red, black, white, brown and yellow peoples are very slowly re-emerging.

The She Bear SAMI

In the shamanic folklore of the Sami and other members of their language group, such as the Mansi and Khanty peoples of Russia, there is a creation myth of a human woman is a bear and she was the wise elder of the Sami. Then later in the evolution when shaman women were pushed out, she marries a bear and the reindeer from there forth, takes more importance as the shamanic animal. The bear is the prehistoric connection and usually a divinity born of the Goddess Mielikki.

she-bear-1sMielikki is a Finnish Goddess of Forests and mother of Nyyrikki and Tuulikki, a central deity in the creation of the bear and the women of the bear ancestry. Mielikki is known as a skillful healer who heals animals through her women and she has given woman the wisdom of the healing herbs. Her name is derived from the old Finnish word mielu which means luck.

Bear worship doesn’t mean they worshiped bears as archaeologist as scientists suggest in their limited understanding about women and bear or how movies today can touch but do not understand the subtle souls we have. Quite contrary, bear in shamanism meant animism, where the woman has a human soul and a bear soul and can shape shift into either. Nature and woman were never separated from her beginnings and could do this. Now even the rarest and purist shamans on earth spend a lifetime reattaining their animism souls some consciousness.

Where the idea of worshiping animals or sacrificing animals come from? There was a period of time when early paganism still connected to the shaman cults certain had partial understandings, but that pretty much ended in the 3rd century bce. After that, certainty of humans falling asleep in a slow force of aggression and war that destroyed the indigenous, especially whites in the early years and by the 8th century almost all connection to previous indigenous whites were interfered with and at worse, corrupted.

In early Chinese and Ainu cultures,  as well (Iomante) they too have Bear Shaman women, bear mothers as a creation story. Koreans in their folklore identify the bear as their ancestor and symbolic animal. According to the Korean legend, a god imposed a difficult test on a she-bear; when she passed it, the god turned her into a woman and married her. So much of the ancient artifacts, shamanic artifacts and archaeological objects of woman’s past, found over the last thousand years or two since writing was invented and woman was not allowed to learn to write or read, her story became a tool for power. Many mythologies which were women and goddesses were simply changed into male and the she bear was not immune to the change.

The She Bear HECATE

Hecate’s wheel is a symbol which represents a woman’s whole life, symbolized as the Goddess – Maiden, Mother and Wise Elder. This labyrinth-like symbol has it’s origins in Greece where Hecate is known as a Guardian of the crossroads, which is older in story than the evolved pagan goddess of magic, witchcraft and sorcery. Cross roads meant to keep the demons, shadows and dark ones in the underworld, not to play around with them, even if in this incarnation your in a healing or mystics journey.

Goddess of the new moon Hecate, huntress of demon souls and ghosts who roam the crossroads (the veil in-between this middle world and the underworld), and a Goddess who had small household shrines, erected to ward off evil, not to welcome them into your body or your space. She was a benevolent deity and thus the Christians and Pagans both turned her into a malevolent power. Those who heal as women, especially in their late 40s until their crone or wise woman stage see this very clearly through experience, not knowledge of whats been handed down to us about Hecate.

Hecate is honored each November 30th at the festival of Hecate Trivia. The word Trivia originally refers to the Latin term for a place where “three roads meet,” which is you in your mundane life, and the demonic soul of karma in the underworld and the veil in-between both. In Hecate’s symbolism at a higher level rather than personal, is the symbols of the Waking World, the Dreaming Worlds and the In-between Worlds (between both waking and sleeping). Her most important cults were those of the Island of Samothrake, where she was worshiped as Goddess of the Mysteries.

HEKATE’S TITLES (Bendis, Artemis, Vanth)
A′NGELOS (Angelos). A surname of Artemis, under which she was worshipped at Syracuse, and according to some accounts the original name of Hecate.
BRIMO (Brimô), the angry or the terrifying, occurs as a surname of several divinities, such as Hecate or Persephone, Demeter and Cybele. The derivation of Brimo from Bromos, refers to the crackling of the Fire, as Hecate was conceived bearing a torch which would make her serpent a purification, which is way past the stages healing.
CHTHO′NIA (Chthonia), may mean the subterraucous, or the goddess of the earth, that is, a protector.
PHERAEA (Pheraia). 1. A surname of Artemis at Pherae in Thessaly, at Argos and Sicyon, where she had temples. A surname of Hecate, because she was a daughter of Zeus and Pheraea, the daughter of Aeolus, because she had been brought up by the shepherds of Pheres, because she was worshiped at Pherae.
PHO′SPHORUS (Phôsphoros), Phosphorus also occurs as a surname of several goddesses of “Light”, as Artemis (Diana Lucifera), Eos and Hecate.

Goddess of Mystery meant the great teachings for millions of years were not shared with men and were taught by grandmothers. Dionysus cults corrupted and stole the great teachings through the weaker of the tree stages of woman: The Maiden. Then Apollo and Dionysus under the pagan men corrupted it even further with black sex magic with the maiden. It was then, the maiden then turned her back on the grandmothers and thus the mothers were caught in the middle and destroyed.

The older pre-pagan cultures were women cultures of fire and leadership, so the fire goddesses like Bendis, Vesta, Durga and Sehkmet were extremely important as an older archaic culture of prehistory and fell under the dark goddess realms. In classical sculptures, Hekate was depicted in one of two ways: a woman holding twin torches (light bearer Goddess like Thor or Uranus); or as three woman standing back to back representing the fates and the three stages of womanhood. According to Pausanias, Alkamenes who was the first sculptor to portray her in the Triformis style of his art. There is a good example of an Hekate Trimorphis in the Vatican Museum and also one in Antiquities Museum of Leiden.



Pindar, Paean 2, Greek lyric 5th Century B.C.E:

“It was the first of the month when this befell, and the gracious Hekata, was thereby sending us a message that was longing for fulfillment.” Offerings of fire were made to Hekate making her a Fire Goddess on the morning of the new moon and in some cultures on the full moon with moon cakes and fire (torches). According to fragmentary texts of the Chaldean Oracles, Hecate is connected to a maze which spiraled, connecting her to the serpent, but the mazes were associated with dances, not serpents.

Ancient women’s cultures included the symbolism of the serpent as healing, but this maze of Hecate’s was known as the “Stropholos of Hecate” or whats termed now as Hecate’s wheel, and what I call that ties it all together “Hekate’s Fire Wheel” referring to the leadership and power of woman in both knowledge and life and today, the Slavs and Balkans still have their fire wheels at the winter solstice in modern paganism.

Traditionally, the Hecate Maze has a Y in the middle, rather than the typical X shape found at the center of most labyrinths. Her wheel has been found in the 1st century c.e. on tablets, although there seems to be some question about whether the wheel shape itself as Hecate’s domain or that of Aphrodite, my intuition says they are Aphrodite because Venus/Aphrodite replaced all grandmother goddesses including Hecate.

Most of the classics link Hecate and Artemis Callisto together as Moon Goddesses, one a maiden and one a grandmother elder, one a new moon goddess and one a dark moon goddess, but there is a third linked and that is the Goddess Bendis, the Thracian Goddess. Bendis has a striking resemblance of Artemis who had already been acknowledged in antiquity, but to uncover the nature of this relationship, it is essential to compare Bendis with Artemis Mounychia, especially since their sanctuaries in Piraeus stood next to each other, likely not by accident.

In the Classical literature and in later traditions, Artemis was portrayed as a huntress; an amazon and wild deity of nature, a maiden. Artemis Mounychia, however, differed from this Classical image. The characteristics of this particular Artemis were in fact more similar to the Cult of the moon goddess: Hekate. Under the oriental influence, Bendis was often identified with Deities of the Night, namely Cottyto, Cybele, and Hekate. These deities were often associated with the life cycle.

On the island of Lemnos the worshipers of the Great Goddess of Lemnos (Aristophanes Women of Lemnos) practiced bear magic and was the connection between the Great Goddess of Lemnos and Bendis, traditionally accepted and documented by a depiction of huntress on a pottery shard from Lemnos from the archaic period. Bendis’s other names are Kotys (Thracian goddess), Cotis (Latin), Kotis (Greek), Ceotis, Ciotis (Romania) is a Thracian – Dacian goddess, venerated especially at the Thracian Edons, population that it is found between the Struma river and the Mesta river, in south Sofia.

In Antiquity they were stretched till Vardar river (Axios), but after the Macedonian expansion they were pushed to east, in Thracia. Strabon describes Cotis Goddess’ Cult as almost the same as Bendis goddess. He said that the Edons were playing some instruments that were issuing certain strange sounds, as thunders, caused by some big drums, probably, sound combined with some frantically strings accords, rituals as shamans, purifying their souls which is what the word Huntress means in Goddess languages.

As seen in the example of the Great Goddess sanctuaries, they are often ascribed to other female deities on the basis of similar characteristics and the dynamic nature of the cult of Bendis in Thrace. These sites are situated on the fringes of Thrace, in areas cohabited by peoples of both Greek and Thracian ethnicity. In Oisyme and Neapolis in the 6th century BCE, a small sanctuarymis dedicated to Parthenos, usually identified with Athena or Artemis. The situation is similar in the case of Artemis Phosphoros at Odessos, documented by a dedication to Phosphoros on inscription from the 2nd century to the 1st century BCE, and the presence of Phosphoros is also attested in Byzantion, where Bendis is usually identified either with Artemis and Hekate. On the other hand in Abdera, Bendis is associated with Hekate only.

The reason for their association with Bendis is that the cults of Phosphoros and Hekate were accompanied by torch-lit night celebrations, similarly as in the case of Bendis in Athens. The name Phosphoros means ‘light-bringer’ or torch bearer and is assigned to Artemis, Hekate and Eos. In the Inland Thrace the cult of Phosphoros was documented in Kabyle, one of the royal Hellenistic cities of the 3rd century BCE by an inscription dated to 300–280 BCE and unfortunately, the location of the sanctuary of Phosphoros still remains unknown up to present, but the iconographical typology is well known from the coinage minted in Kabyle.

The female deity does appear to hold a patera and burning torches that became one of the symbols of the city in antiquity. The coins minted by the rulers of Kabyle adapt this iconography, and while the cult of Phosphoros is usually identified with Artemis, some of the attributes could also belong to the cult of Bendis, in particular the double length torch which resembles a spear, the short chiton, and the patera in her hands. The torch races of the neighboring cult of Bendis also connected with the Festivals of Hecate. Another fact pointing toward the pre-Classic beliefs, is that the Artemis Mounychia sanctuary had always been linked to the cult of Brauronian Artemis, where young Athenian maidens served as She-Bears.

Stone age bear from PolandNonnus, Dionysiaca (Greek epic 5th Century ce) : “Already the bird of morning was cutting the air with loud cries on the island of Samothrake already the helmeted bands of desert-haunting Korybantes were beating on their shields in the “Knossian Dances. Leaping with rhythmic steps, and the Ox hides thudded under the blows of the iron as they whirled them about in rivalry, while the double pipe made music, and quickened the dancers with its rollicking tune in time to the bounding steps.  Aye, and the trees whispered, the rocks boomed, the forests held jubilee with their intelligent moving and shaking, and the Dryades did sing. Packs of Bears joined the dance, skipping and wheeling face to face; lions with a roar from throats mimicked the triumphant cry of the priests of the Kabeiroi, sane in their madness; the reveling pipes rang out a tune to honor of Hekate, divine friend of dogs, those single pipes, which the horn-polisher’s art invented in Kronos’s days.”

The Bear in many cultures is one of the very oldest relics of the Cave Grandmothers and later in the Artemisian cults of the grandmothers, having originated from their own Neolithic periods which were more connected with the nature, wild life, protection of life and healing and regenerative powers.

The maidens in Mounychia also similarly served as they did in Brauron, and this characteristic is what suggests to us the far older origins of this type of culture’s practice in Peiraeus, potentially preceding the Persian Wars. In Greek mythology, the Goddess Callisto or Kallisto was a nymph of Lycaon who was also transformed into a Bear, she was the Bear-mother of the Arcadians.

Artio is also called Dea Artio and Andarta all names that relate to or directly mean “bear” (Monaghan, 2004). One of the best known pieces of evidence relating to Artio is an engraved statue found near Berne, Switzerland. The statue depicts a seated female figure, generally thought to be the goddess, holding a basket of fruit, facing a bear who is standing in front of a tree; an engraving on one side of the statue says: “to the goddess Artio” (Green, 1992). A second find with in inscription was found in Bollendorf, Germany, and other evidence was in France (Green, 1992; Monaghan, 2004).

While the areas Artio has been found in could be considered Germanic, the name is Gallic, and She is generally described as either Germano-Celtic or Romano-Gaulish (I favor the former myself). Although the imagery of the statue is obscure and there is a lack of literary evidence, most agree that Artio was likely a goddess of fertility and plenty, and possibly a patroness of hunters as well as protector of bears (Green, 1992; Markale, 1986). Some also theorize that She was a more general goddess of the wilderness and wild things (Monaghan, 2004).

Sources agree that She was also seen in the form of a bear, with Sjoestedt placing her in the category of zoomorphic goddesses alongside Epona (Sjoestedt, 1949). It seems likely that the bear goddess, Artio, was eventually replaced by a bear god, Artaios who was synchronized by the Romans to Mercury (Markale, 1986). Sister of the Pleiades – The Bee Goddess who was really a Bear Goddess

Bears and Bees are linked together all over the world in waking life and in mythology and in the ancient Near East and throughout the Aegean world, bees were seen as a bridge between the natural world and the underworld. This links the Bear of the Caves (underworld) to an earlier time before the Bear Goddess was reduced to a Bee as part of the eradication of the power of the grandmothers of the bear clans of an earlier time before men lead community. Remember, men used language, the creation of language as a tool of destruction to reduce women’s role in to small and subservient myths. Bees were carved on tombs. The Mycenaean tholos tombs even took the form of beehives.

Winged, armed with toxin, creators of the fermentable honey, seemingly parthenogenesis in their immortal hive, bees were emblems of Potnia, the Minoan-Mycenaean “Mistress” older than Demeter, who might sometimes be called “the pure Mother Bee.” If ever it is doubted that Demeter and the archaic Artemis as she was honored at Ephesus were Hellenic embodiment of the Great Mother. It should be recalled that “Not only the priestesses of Artemis at Ephesus were ‘Bees’, but also those of Demeter”, as Jane Ellen Harrison noted “and still, more significant, the Delphic priestess herself was a Bee”.

The Jewish historian Josephus correctly noted that the name of the poet and prophet Deborah meant “bee”. The Homeric Hymn to Apollo acknowledges that Apollo’s gift of prophecy first came to him from three bee-maidens, usually identified with the Thriae. Pindar too remembered that the Pythian pre-Olympic priestess of Delphi remained “the Delphic bee” long after Apollo had usurped and reduced the ancient oracle and shrine to a drug laden experience with Dionysus. The Delphic priestess in historical times chewed a laurel leaf, Harrison noted, “but when she was a Bee surely she must have sought her inspiration in the honeycomb.”

Beekeeping was a Minoan craft, and the fermented honey-drink was the old Cretan intoxicant, older than wine. Ernst Neustadt, in his monograph on Zeus Kretigenes, “Cretan-born Zeus”, devoted a chapter to the honey-goddess Melissa. The proto-Greek invaders, by contrast, did not bring the art of beekeeping with them. Homer saw bees as wild, never tame, as when the Achaeans issued forth from their ship encampment “like buzzing swarms of bees that come out in relays from a hollow rock” (Iliad, book II). Long after Knossos fell, for two thousand years, the classical Greek tongue preserved ” honey-intoxicated” as the phrase for “drunken” and obviously the effects of the drug and alcohol cult of Dionysus and Apollo’s shadow influences.

The Thriae who offered Apollo the gift of prophecy were a trinity of pre-Hellenic bee-goddesses in the Aegean. The embossed gold plaque, one of a series of identical plaques recovered at Camiros in Rhodes dates from the archaic period of Greek art, in the seventh century, but the winged bee-goddesses they depict must be far older.

Merope is one of the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades and her name “Merope” seems to mean “honey-faced” in Greek, thus “eloquent” in Classical times, but surely at an earlier level her “face” was a bee-mask. Cretan bee-masked priestesses appear on Minoan seals. One of the mythographers recalled the tradition that “Merope” was the “bee-eater” in the old Minoan tongue, before the Hellenes came to the Aegean.

Orion was a suitor of Merope. His birthplace was Hyrai in Boeotia, an ancient place mentioned in Homer’s catalogue of the ships that set forth to fetch Helen home from Troy. According to Hesychius, the Cretan word hyron meant ‘swarm of bees’ or ‘beehive’. Like some other archaic names of Greek cities, such as Athens or Mycenae, Hyrai is plural, a name that once had evoked the place of “the sisters of the beehive.”

This name Merope figures in too many isolated tales for “Merope” to be an individual. Instead the “Merope” must denote a position as priestess of the Goddess. But surely Merope the “bee-eater” is unlikely to be always a bee herself. Though there is a small Mediterranean “Bird” called the Bee-Eater, which was known under that name to Roman naturalists Pliny and Aelian, this Bee-Eater was a SHE BEAR, a representative of Artemis.  The goddess was pictured primitively with a she-bear’s head herself, and the bear remained sacred to Artemis into classical times.

At a festival called the Brauronia, pre-pubescent girls were dressed in honey-colored yellow robes and taught to perform a bear dance. Once they had briefly served Artemis in this way, they would be ready to be married. In later times, a Syriac Book of Medicine recommends that the eye of a bear, placed in a hive, makes the bees prosper. The bear’s spirit apparently watches over the hive, and this was precisely Merope’s role among the Hyrai at Chios.



When looking for woman’s prehistoric shamanic and animist origins, before the written language one must not only think backwards, but walk backwards through history visually, creating new sideways.  So, lets go Goddess Bear Hunting, linking Hekate, Artemis and Bendis, along with the dogs of Hekate to the She-Bears – and the first one I come up with is Polyphonte (Πολυφόντη) a character in Greek mythology, being only a minor mythological figure the story of her life, contained in only one source, namely Antoninus Liberalis’s Metamorphoses.

Antonius cites Boeus’ second book, ‘The Origin of Birds’ as the source of the story, however Boeus’ entire work has been destroyed by the rising Kingdoms of men against the more powerful women’s traditions of the Dark Goddess.

The only ancient text left says that the She Bears are little girls, young maidens but that is not truth, for Bear medicine is one of the most powerful and dangerous and ceremony would have not allowed little girls to participate, only the adult mothers and grandmothers would have performed the bear rites and rituals. It was only later in these cultures when all power was taken away and the women were only figureheads, the original shamanic rites become festivals. People have forgotten that the white indigenous races were the first to be wiped out a few thousand years ago under the goddess cultures.

Agrius and Oreius were a pair of half-human, half-Bear Thracian Giants. They were transformed into Birds of Prey and their names mean “the Wild” (Greek agrios) and “of the Mountain” (Greek oreios). Their parents were a bear and Polyphonte (Antoninus Liberalis, Metamorphoses 21 (trans. Celoria) (Greek mythographer 2nd Century ce.) :

Thrassa was the daughter of Ares and of Tereine, daughter of Strymon. Hipponous, son of Triballos [epony of the Triballoi tribe of Thrake], married her and they had a daughter called Polyphonte (Slayer-of-Many). She scorned the activities of Aphrodite and went to the mountains as a companion and sharer of hunting of shadows (slayer) with Artemis.

Aphrodite, whose activities Polyphonte failed to honor, made her fall in love with a Bear and coupled with this bear. Artemis seeing her, turned all animals against her of her old shamanic cave ways. Polyphonte, fearing this, she fled and reached her father’s house. She brought *42 children, Agrios and Oreios, huge and of immense strength. They honored neither but scorned them all. If they met a stranger they would haul him home to eat. Zeus loathed them and sent Hermes to punish them in whatever way he chose.

As a side note, I found the 42 children interesting because there is a biblical quote from 2 Kings  2 24 which states – There came forth two she-bears out of the forest, which probably had been robbed of their whelps, and thereby made more fierce and outrageous; and tore forty and two children — (this also signifies, not only young children, but also those that are grown up to maturity).” In this extraordinary punishment, inflicted on these young persons, we have demonstration, that the curse which the prophet denounced against them was not owing, as some have supposed, to the peevishness of his temper, or the ebullition of his anger: “For though his rage had been ever so furious, it would not have supplied him with power to command these creatures to leave the woods at an instant, and to come to a place they did not frequent, as a public road must be supposed to be, in order to destroy these insolent youths.”

As punisher, Hermes decided to chop of their hands and feet. But Ares, since the family of Polyphonte descended from him, snatched her sons from this fate. With the help of Hermes he changed them into birds. Polyphonte became a small Owl whose voice is heard at night, as she is a portent of war and sedition for mankind. Oreios became an Eagle Owl, a bird that presages little good to anyone when it appears and Argios was changed into the Vulture linking her to the Underworld and Artemis Hekate Bendis.

Their female servant was changed into a Woodpecker and as she was changing her shape she prayed to the gods not to become a bird that is evil for humankind. Hermes and Ares heard her prayer because she had by necessity done what her masters had ordered, so the woodpecker became a good omen for someone going hunting or to the festival feast.”

Joscelyn Godwin writes that the old and new are divided by the Moon or Polar Cult and the Solar Cult, that the polar cult survived classical times in popular religion and magic. The Greek magical papyri contains many spells addressed to the Great Bear (Ursa Major), for example…

“Bear, Bear, you who rule the heaven, the stars, and the whole world you who make the axis turn and control the whole cosmic system by force and compulsion, I appeal to you, imploring and supplicating that you may do the the (think I desire), because I call upon you with your holy names at which your deity rejoices, names which you are not able to ignore…”

Bendis was a Thracian Goddess of the Moon, of the Forest, of the Hunt and of the Charms whom the Greeks identified with Artemis. By a decree of the Oracle of Dodona, which required the Athenians to grant land for a shrine or temple her cult was introduced into Attica by immigrant Thracian residents, and, though Thracian and Athenian processions remained separate, both cultures and festivals became so popular that in Plato’s time (c. 429-413 BCE) its festivities were naturalized as an official ceremonial of the city-state, called the Bendideia. Among the events were nighttime torch-races on horseback to show their Amazon skills, mentioned in Plato’s Republic, 328:

“You haven’t heard that there is to be a torchlight race this evening on horseback in honor of the Goddess?” “On horseback?” said I. “Will they carry torches and pass them along to one another as they race with the horses, or how do you mean?” “That’s the way of it,” said Polemarchus, “and, besides, there is to be a night festival which will be worth seeing.”



The Goddess Bendis, which Herodotus wrote “she is adored by the Thracian people, when women were the leaders, being borrowed from the populations at the north, who can only be the Dacians,” – the culture of this goddess was confirmed by the archaeological discoveries (a head of bronze found at Costesti, a medallion of clay, discovered at Sarmizegetusa, and a bronze bust from Piatra Rosie).

Bendis, daughter of Apollodoros 1347 where the name is spelled as Oendis, that could be restored as Bendis, daughter of Drogedous from the sanctuary of Nymphs in Bourdapa. All three inscriptions are probably from Roman times. It is within the context of this nearby culture of Artemis Mounychia that we may begin to compare and secondarily reconstruct the characteristics which the cult of Bendis may have had in Athens. From studying these sources, it appears that Artemis Mounychia was hence a deity of protection, one connecting women with the moon cycle cultures and one which represents bonding, not only of children, partners but the protection of human life and nature which is “fertility’ in its widest and most origin meaning.

The physical proximity of the Bendis temple to that of Artemis Mounychia, and the similarity of festival activities (such as the torch use in relation to the moon cycle) suggests a closeness in the orientation of these cults, one which is an essential consideration for any exploration of the cult of Bendis in a foreign context.

From the 5th century BCE she was the culture of Athens in the ceremonies called “Bendideia” where there were 2 processions, one made by Athenians, the other by Thracians from Pireus. The Temple of the Goddess Bendideion, was situated on the Hill of Munychia. At the beginning of the second century BCE, a temple of Bendis / Mendis existed on the western shores of Hebru.Later, another temple is mentioned near Ptolemais, in Egypt. Her cult was also present in Asia Minor-Bithinia.

 yugoslavia5On small statues and reliefs Bendis is represented wearing Thracian clothing and sometimes she has a spear in the left hand and a sacrificial cup on the right and on some coins she appears with 2 spears and a dagger, or with 2 torches, or a torch and a patera. She was identified with Artemis or Hecate. Some Romanian scientist believe she was the wife of Hercules from Thracian legends. The Thracian’s were an ancient ethnic group that inhabited most of what is today called Bulgaria.

Her cult survived during the period of Roman occupation, in the form of Roman Goddess Diana. The name of Diana can be traced in the Romanian words zana, sanziana (Sancta Diana) or cosanziana (Quo Sancta Diana). The Romanians of ancient (Thracians) called her Queen Hestia and her apprentices, were fire worshipers of the entire Thracianarea, from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, the Dnieper beyond Tisa, where she appears even in Vespri City. “Thrace Mare” Geto-Dacian was since their beginnings, a peoples linked to this ancestral hearth of the Goddess. During the matriarch (around 1900 BCE), the head of the family were women, Gauls appear as independent people led by Queen Hestia. She held ritual worship of the sacred fire at the royal residence in the city of the Traco-Dacian.

daciada vase of Bendis the GoddessFire generally was maintained day and nigh and even the name Dacia, if etymologically discussed by researchers, have linked Bendis like Hekate with the cult of Fire and with fire in general, around which life carries the first tribal matriarchal society and then patriarchal and lastly royal.

In the Law of Manu, the Indian Daksa was the name of a god, Dachsina which means holy fire ceremony. Dacia was the country of the sacred fire, and the fir is generally honored locally. In connection with fire worship, ancestors were honored with a “River of Fire” in the village Comanita, of the Olt county. The matriarch Bendis, which initially the Queen of Thrace who after her death became the a Goddess. In the Lexicon of Hesighyos of Alexandria (c. V or VI), we find recorded:

Aristophanes says Bendis is a Thracian Goddess and that she was a Queen of the Amazons before Hestia (Vesta). Her names were Artemis Thraci; the Athenian Goddess and part of the Bendis celebrations.  She was also Artemis Thraci, the ‘Great Goddess’ which carried out its activities around the Sacred Fire which was an act of prophecy (not the vapors). The Goddess Bendis also appears “symbolically embodying the woman warrior who has a tree branch (not olive) in her left hand and one branch in the other hand.

Goddess BendisDaicoviciu Hadrian writes that Bendis was “the feminine divinity Dacian and Thracian Goddess of the Moon, the Forests and Charms”. Fire meant Heavenly Sun Worship and the Sacred Fire meant Moon Worship, which has survived until today, especially as the root of all pre-pagan Summer Solstice Festivals that have a bonfire. All counties Daco-Romanian carved sun appears as the Goddess of the sacred Fire. Daco-Romanian culture retains many vestiges of their matriarchy periods.

In Acau, Moinesti “a sanctuary was discovered a ritual complex consists of 21 female statuettes kept in a pot”. Of these, 15 are larger and placed on one “throne clay” and six figures “smaller without thrones and scenery.” They are called “The Goddess Council which represents the elder Grandmother Leaders”.

A “Great Goddess” was found in Trufesti in Botosani County, as in other parts; it was dated around 3000 bce and added to this, the statues of clay, “including a female deity embodying the cult of fertility and the wealth of the culture” discovered at Libcova, Caras Severin, clay figurines (today Dunareni), Dolj County, medallion clay with the image of the goddess Diana-Bendis. Vasile Parvan said that “the feminine deity was worshiped as Hestia heralded” meaning a high goddess of loam and nourishment (fertility) existence in Dacia “even before the arrival of the Iranians”.

Added to this, the statues of clay, including a female deity embodying the cult of fertility, the wealth” discovered at Libcova, Caras Severin, clay figurines of meat (today Dunareni), Dolj County, medallion clay with the image of the goddess Diana-Bendis.

Great Goddess Bendis dealt with destiny, like the Fates and the Indo-European root bhend teonimului means to”tie” or “bend”, hence the Anglo-Saxon word or Germanicia binden bind, which was attributed to fate and in the shamanic cultures back then it would have applied to the she bear (shaman women). For binding is an old action of huntress in the form of shadows and the underworld and we know Hecate, Bendis and Artemis are bound as Huntresses of the Moon and not in the way later societies changed their shamanic warrior women origins. It is likely that after the conquest of Dacia Romanian, Bendis has been assimilated by the goddess Diana (Artemis in Greek).

The cult of the goddess Bendis was taken over by the Greeks, becoming the state cult in Athens since the fifth century BCE.Today called Kastella, later, after the second century BCE we can find a temple of the goddess on the western shore of Hebra, in the Balkans. Her cult is attested in Asia Minor, specifically in Bithinia, or even in Ptolemaic Egypt. The reliefs and statues of the goddess Bendis is represented wearing robes and cap trace trace (Phrygian Phrygians were Thracian) and sometimes she has a spear in her left hand and a cup in the right. On some coins, it appears either holding two spears and a dagger or two handles or a torch and a patera.

Shaman and walker between the worlds

Vanth was certainly misread and miscategorized, she was in the Etruscan mythologies in tomb paintings. What men never understood, and then when writing dissertations and historical accounts of ancient women, was that power meant dark goddess, strength in a divine way meant dark goddess and Vanth certainly falls under this category.

Tomb raiders and tomb scholars see these Goddesses as women who are like nurses today, that they took care of the dead… not so, the elder Grandmothers job was not to be responsible for the “physical” of dead but the ceremonies of endings in a shamanic ritual and rites. Many reasons there is art remaining in the funeral vaults was the taboo that great dishonor would fall upon them if they removed or destroyed these ancient goddesses. Today the rebels do the finishing jobs of destroying the physical, but the soul of this art was destroyed long ago.

Vanth is a female Guardian of the Underworld (not a demon) just like Hecate. A guardian was a shamanic term that meant the shadows were kept in the underworld and the living did not cross into the underworld unless they die and return to the place where karma exists. Karma did not always exist or exists in cycles, so the underworld at periods of time was not an appropriate description for dark goddesses. When the wars of the Kingdoms began to rise around 2500 bce, then the underworld could be linked with the living and the karmic dead. The grandmother cults made sure there would be no escaping of the shadow aspects of the living. That has long been eradicated when grandmother was forbidden to lead.

These were powerful chiefs of the Etruscan’s and associated with powers over both life and death, the underworld that is often accompanied either by additional Vanth figures or by another so called demon, Charun (later referred to as Charu). Both Vanth and Charun and what was left of their iconography after 400 BC, in the middle period of Etruscan art was hardly anything, although some earlier inscriptions mention her name but like all powerful grandmothers, they were removed and taken out, and certainly the same is true of Vanth and one who has no direct counterpart in Greek mythology by scholars, but by shamans, Artemis, Hekate, Bendis are all her counterparts.

She has been compared to the Greek Furies and like all real dark goddess elders, they are both benevolent and avenging. Her other attributes just like Hecate includes the possession of her sacred Torch, a key (or scroll), and she is shown often to be bare-chested with cross-straps across her breast,like Artemis, adorned with fur boots, a rolled short chiton. In fact her dress has been attributed by Scheffer as specifically the dress of the Huntress of the Moon (exorcist and demon slayer) which men’s religions wrote in the ‘rising’ writing languages as the opposite, a demon herself.

Vanth is involved in a variety of different types of scenes in Etruscan art; the most common types associate her presence with occasions of Huntress (slaying demons, slaughtering men who abolished nature and disrespected and murdered women in their sacred Temples), including scenes from the Trojan cycles. Occasionally she is shown rising up out of the ground in such contexts, as seen on an ash urn from Chiusi and sometimes she is even shown as a solitary figure decorating the sides of ash urns. Other scenes in which Vanth is present involve the meeting and escort of the dead (classic and traditional shaman women’s roles), and the role of the shaman pychopompos, who walked between the worlds.

Vanth is associated with death and the journey of the deceased to the Underworld, and the dark souls who roam from the living dead, she is present in scenes of the moment of death as well in scenes where the deceased is already fully dead and journeying to the Underworld. She is depicted as a benevolent psychopompian figure, in contrast to the menacing Charun, her sometime companion.

The materials that Vanth is identified as carrying, which include a torch as the torch can be used to light the way for travelers when they face darkness and it is a status symbol of a Holy Woman (goddess) and n indication of high ranking office (of the Grandmothers [elders]). Daemon vs Demon, Boskie vs Antiboskie, Slavic Folklore

What is demonology and daemonology
Originally, languages went from only gesturing with verbal spoken, until the first written languages were created later, thus the origin of “daemon” in the older context when humans had less karma, meant a higher, supernatural, impersonal force, a power that is usually identified with nature in the form of spirit, not soul. Today people in the world, use the word spirit as if they could tell the difference between the spirit and the ten human souls we are all given, they cannot. Because of this, teachings, occultists, esoteric, astrologers, and even the ufo (alien) groups who have been very distorted in their understandings, and not grounded in the full picture of the human soul (and the human soul-less ones). All of our many fragments as humans, roams our planet in a ‘living’ or alive and semi-dead state, but the true dead are not here according to rules of nature and energy.

In prehistoric times, “spirit”is, was and always will be an “element”, earth, air, fire, water, stone etc, try to imagine “spirit” as elements, not as human. Try to detach from doctrine and knowledge which has fallen asleep or forgotten their prehistory remembrances. If he or she reaches a celestial levels of their tenth soul, and paid much karma in the forms of a devout path for lifetimes, then mastered the human, then moved into animist, then we can begin to speak of ‘spirit’ in a non analogy ways. In the Polish tradition and few other prehistory understandings, the spirit connected with human is called Poludnica. And even though religion had demonized poludnica lineages, it was to get humans to disengage from their goddess cultures of full self empowerment and no male figure needed for enlightenment. What we have left today are occultists merged equally with religion, still battling the evil vs good. When we step away from this mental knowledge path, we enter ‘experience’ and that changes everything. Dangerous but illuminating.

So, spirit in this context of the way its been presented since written language has existed, is not from human experience at all, or the accomplishment of merging, purifying and unifying all ten animist & human souls of the self, healed and returned into one brilliant pure astral body. The same is true for our own personal demon (shadow astral body), the demonology of us, the self of our own past lives. This is where texts of religions through the ages, or even for the last three millenniums, have been trying to figure out the missing parts, with just knowledge. That is impossible of a non-physical reality.

Spirit is wind, storms, rain and lightening spirits, or water and oceanic typhoon spirits etc. Its hard for human beings in their ordinary life (mundane) to imagine celestial and legendary as something real. So when that was lost, we have doctrine left, which is about 100 percent correct of the descriptions, but 5% correct in the actual context, since its missing the true experiences of non-physical reality, and in reality, context is everything.

There are no spirit teachings after the 10th century in its original form anymore, and most shamanic teachings were by then, only folklore after the 13th century, even in indigenous communities. We all fell asleep like hobbits as the demons of war began to cause more and more fragmentation, and all of us were involved in this…  our own souls karma. The more you can understand demonology is an image of what our “souls” in a shadow state looks like – the  more you will understand daemonology is a healing path to correcting and reunifying your own soul fragments, the more understanding, the more freedom you will experience and the more you will understand the knowledge aspects. Everything else of the SOUL is classified as ghost, names of these ghosts in demonology, haunting, esoteric and occult shadows.

Day awakens to only concerns and hardships. Maybe if someone had asked people what they wanted, they would prefer the eternal and peaceful night.”

But how? Long thought Night and decided to weave a thick black veil, strong. As soon as the sun appeared in the sky, night envelops his blanket, and binds it tight and throw it somewhere behind the mountains, across the sea. She immediately sat down to work, and soon-the impenetrable black veil was woven. Then another, and another … Night peered into the darkness, and her wonderful eyes, which could penetrate through the walls of the houses, I saw crying children. Encouraged by the fact that the morning does not come in due time. Overnight I saw the graves open, and out of these ghouls and upyritsy from the underworld. Then will comes the kingdom of Military devils! – Go and away! – Cried the Queen of the Night, but the dark forces have not heard it and all the men have destroyed the women who honored her peace. Shaman cultures are far older than pagan eras and hold the mystery of the purity of the reality of our ten souls as humans, this is at the root of all shamanic cultures, but only a few shamans understand the entire process. Before paganism or religions, the shamans held the culture’s shadows at bay, each individual was responsible for their own shadows and fragmented shadows and not seen separate from the incarnated human. All has been lost of this ancient knowing of the ten souls, two mental bodies, one physical body and the mysteries of the spirit divine of human as wind, storm, etc, which were just turned into god names of the pagans. All philosophy, occult, theology, religious and pagan has distorted the one fact, that all shadow are us in a energetic astral body form.

Demonology is understood here as a sphere of belief in various spiritual beings, often non-individualized, sometimes amorphous. They are present in human surrounding natural and social reality. Poland was once a pagan country and a pre-pagan country before war spread like fire around the earth, long before men led paganism and even before that, shaman grandmothers ruled in all things spiritual, there were ranks of Grandmothers within the Slavic nations, of leadership, spiritual leadership, sexual and sensual teachings by the Mothers, many things the pagans have no idea existed in these shamanic pre-pagan cultures. Today we have a more traditional folk culture archetype, a very strong tendency to mythological and symbolic personification of phenomena and processes occurring in the reality around us in nature behind the man veils here on earth, the natural humans, and the social humans like religious. The cognitive processes of the world around us, can not be given to rationally explanation because its energy, its in-between the veils of physical and energetic (dream gates), so one must not feel that they must attempt explaining it to non-believers and those who have no experiences because to them, folklore is real, but not “really” real, its just an art process, a writing of a book story, a sharing in a circle. When i have shared real experiences, even the strongest believer gets fearful, so I stopped sharing my teachings about ten years ago and now only work with gifted dreamers who can withstand the karmic purifications, as I am one of the pre-pagan shaman grandmothers (wind whisperer) and Polish.

A reflection of this fact in the sphere of folk consciousness has become a broad spectrum of fantastic shape demonic imagery. A feature of Polish folk demonology is also its relation to the acquired with the Roman Catholic religion topics belief in devils and witches. These beliefs include in its content, various aspects impersonation of individual phenomena and processes occurring in the natural world and in society. Currently, the Polish people have lost almost irretrievably huge portion of their ancient beliefs and customs, dying in the social consciousness of rural residents. The relic form we find them even in verbal folklore – tales, legends, stories, proverbs and folk art.

In Polish Folkology (daemons), there are anonymous sermons dating back to 15th century revealing the forbidden culture of “Uboże” Kronika Polska, Litewska, Żmudzka” the Chronicle of Poland, Lithuania and Samogitia) by Maciej Stryjowski, Publisher in 1582: “In Pomerania, next to Chojnice and Toruń, local people say that creatures live under the birch trees. These creatures are believed to be ghosts, phantasms, and other creatures and are called the lovely red people. People say they are no more than a cubit long. The “Officina Ferraria” by Walenty Roździeński from 1612, the fragment is entitled “Uboża albo duchowie kuźniczni”  (Uboża or blacksmith’s ghosts) above-cited fragment tells the story of some ubozeta help the blacksmith, like domovois help artists and shamans….

There were some ghosts in forges long time ago, they used to come on Saturdays, at night, after workers already left to houses. Blacksmiths usually called them uboże, and they consider them sacred and holy, they were so small like children. They used to work at night but when the Rooster crowed, they were immediately gone. The ghosts uboz had left him immediately because they felt offended by the host.

“Wesele krasnoludków” which means, Wedding of the Dwarfs in Pamiętniki” (Diaries) by Jan Chryzostom Pasek from 1659 says: “These are mischievous creatures, made servants everywhere in Swedish and Danish forests as well as in Turkey, where they are forced to do all kinds of work they are told to and they are called house spirits or spiritus familiars.

“While Rej was traveling to Sweden as a member of parliament, his most loved coachmen got ill and Rej had to leave him at a familiar nobleman. He intended to pick the coachmen up on the way home. The ill coachmen was lying in the empty room. When the fever left his body, he started hearing beautiful sounds of music. He wasn’t surprised because he thought that the music comes from some other parts of the house.


Suddenly, a tiny creature dressed from head to toe jumped out from a mice hole and the second and third one jumped after him, not to mention the following ladies. The music got louder and tiny creatures started to dance in the room. The coachman was completely terrified. After that the creatures started to leave the room in pairs. As the music started to follow them, the young bride followed them as well. They went out through the door not even noticing him. The man was almost dead from fear.

After a while a small creature came back and said to the man: ‘Don’t feel disturbed by what you see here. You are completely safe. We are the guardian home spirits. Today we have a wedding: a brother of ours is getting married so we are heading there but we will be coming back the same track so we will eagerly celebrate with you as well – be our guest.’ The man didn’t want to watch the spectacular, so he stood up and locked up the door hoping that they won’t enter the room on the way back. However, the spirits came back after the wedding and were surprised to find the door locked. The music was getting louder and louder. Suddenly, a small creature found his way under the door and came in. He looked at the man angrily and turned into a tall man. He unlocked the door and let the group in. The wedding participants crossed the room and disappeared in the mice hole again. After an hour a small creature came out of the mice hole to bring the ill man a sweet pie with raisins5 and said:

‘The groom sends you this so you could also have some fun’. The coachman took the pie and put it next to his bed but he was totally scared. The doctor and others who came to look after the coachman were very surprised when they saw the meal. ‘Who did it give you?’, they asked. The coachman told them the whole story and they replied: ‘Don’t you dare showing such ignorance! Don’t be afraid, this is tasty food and the creatures are our small friends. Eat the meal, don’t be scared!’. But the man didn’t want to taste the sweets. So they took the sweet pie and started eating it. They said: ‘We often eat their food and we don’t get sick’. Those people, there, use help of  the small creatures in housework and other services.

Home Spirits

Forks – Spinners
In daemonology,  (self-forks, sea Pani, self-diva lihoplesi) – one of the nicknames cloud nine;

As particularly dangerous and mysterious considered atmospheric phenomena – lightning, whirlwinds, hailstorms, snowstorms snow like. The divisions and classifications within demonology
Classification and division figures from the circle of demonology it is not easy because of the specificity of the test subject.

In the eastern pagan regions of the country in the nineteenth century it was a fairly common view that wearing garlic can protect yourself from the kite like it is in many cultures. The Gate of Hell called Byzantine

The Holy Right-Believing Emperor Justinian and Empress Theodora:
 Saint Justinian, a major figure in the history of the Byzantine state, was also a great champion of Orthodoxy, which meant that under this thousand year rule, women would fall. Forced with violence, into exclusion from all civil and spiritual leadership, as Justinian, builder of men’s churches and a church writer himself, sealing the Kingdoms for men only, of Balkan descent – born in Bulgaria.

During his reign (527-565) Byzantium won glory through killing, military victories of Persia, Africa and Italy. As a result of this, paganism was decisively rooted among the Germanic Vandal and West-Goth tribes and by command of the emperor Justinian, the Pagan schools in Athens of the Goddess Athena were all closed forever. With the aim of spreading controlled Christianity through the regions of Asia Minor by killing (military force), Justinian sent the bishop of Ephesus John, who baptised more than 70 thousand pagans who had no choice or else be murdered.

The Emperor gave orders to build 90 churches for the newly‑converted, as a reward of rejecting the Goddess cultures, and he generously supported church construction within the empire year after year. Under Saint Justinian many churches were built in the name of our Most Holy Lady Mother of God, but took away all women’s personal rights. Being a man of quite diverse education, Saint Justinian assiduously concerned himself over the education of clergy and monks and excluded all women, ordering men to be instructed in rhetorics of the new religion of men through philosophy and  theology.

The holy Emperor Justinian under his guidance and supervision was compiled a complete compendium of Roman laws, which had come down to us as a codex of law known as “the Justinian Codex”. The “Novellae” new world order (i.e. “Church-law of men”) of which Justinian found inclusion in all the variants of the Russian Church-law NomoKanon Books. In his personal life, Saint Justinian was strictly pious, and he zealously fasted quite often and died in the year 565.  Together with the emperor, was enumerated to the ranks of the Saints his like‑minded spouse, the Empress Theodora, who died in the year 548. She was at first a notorious sinner according to her husband Justinian, and an adherent to the Monophysite heresy, but then she repented and led a virtuous life, to keep herself alive.

As far as Sacred Temples of women were concerned, the so called Christian (military) also disrupted and corrupted the once sacred healing rites of women’s sexual and fertility temples which were all turned into prostitution, as there were no Byzantine erotic behaviors, until these sacred temples for healing were shut down, and after the 3rd century, the complete corruption was in place.

Agathias Scholasticus in the sixth century, generally describe encounters with women, once who had temples, were healthy and helped men understand the mysteries and rites of women, were corrupted into prostitutes in the street begging for food. These were the first rites of a 13 year old boy who was given more rights over women in their 30s or their 70s just like Islam today, we can say that Christianity itself taught Islam to disrespect women (religiously as in the downgrading of women leaders repressed and murdered to eradicate any signs of the old arabic pagan religions) and Christians were their main teachers by example. This was the first of many opening of the gates of hell.

While women were being forced down into second class citizens, the first caste systems set up by men on earth, and sex slaves (prostitution), the Emperor Justinian of the Byzantines was busy closing what he called the “Gate to Hell” as part of his crackdown and repression on freedom of religion (ie paganism). To the Byzantine military, it was called closing the “Gate to Hell” which emerged from ruins in southwestern Turkey, Italian archaeologists have announced a few months ago. Known as Pluto’s Gate – the cave was an ancient Goddess Temples but the Military (religion) deemed it evil and that women who had power were evil, so they celebrated closing the healing cave and all the Greco-Roman mythological traditions of the time.

Announced this month at a conference on Italian archaeology in Istanbul, Turkey, the finding was made by a team led by Francesco D’Andria, professor of classic archaeology at the University of Salento. D’Andria has conducted extensive archaeological research at the World Heritage Site of Hierapolis. Founded around 190 B.C. by Eumenes II, King of Pergamum (197 B.C.-159 B.C.), Hierapolis was given over to Rome in 133 B.C.

The Hellenistic city grew into a flourishing Roman city, with temples, a theater and popular sacred hot springs, believed to have healing properties. “We found the Plutonium by reconstructing the route of a thermal spring. Indeed, Pamukkale’ springs, which produce the famous white travertine terraces originate from this cave,” D’Andria told Discovery News.

Featuring a vast array of abandoned broken ruins, possibly the result of earthquakes which generally hit the most war torn or militaristic communities of the ancient world, this site revealed more ruins once it was excavated. The archaeologists found Ionic semi columns and, on top of them, an inscription with a dedication to the deities of the underworld, Pluto and Kore. D’Andria also found the remains of a temple, a pool and a series of steps placed above the cave — all matching the descriptions of the site in ancient sources.

“People could watch the sacred rites from these steps, but they could not get to the area near the opening because the grandmother shamans kept the gates of hell secure so no demons could escape from men’s war behaviors of killing. Only the eldest priestesses could stand in front of the portal,” D’Andria said. According to the archaeologist, there was a sort of touristic organization at the site. These all became corrupt when Dionysus cults brought alcohol into the once and pure temples and cave temples, destroying the fine balance between life and death, the soul worlds and the human world.

Once the Byzantine Military destroyed women’s sacred work to keep the underworld locked, religious men opened the demon pit of the underworld, and the demonic shadows were then allowed to escapee the underworld, these demons were the dark shadows of living men who killed for a living (ie Byzantine Military, like all world military, 3000 years ago or today). It was then within the ‘corruption’ by the Justinians and Constantine, small birds were given to pilgrims to test the deadly effects of the cave, while priestesses were forbidden in their caves and men started to sacrifice bulls to Pluto. The sick ceremony included leading the animals into the cave, and dragging them out dead.

“We could see the cave’s lethal properties during the excavation. Several birds died as they tried to get close to the warm opening, instantly killed by the carbon dioxide fumes,” D’Andria said.  Only the eldest female Shamans (Eunuchs) of the Goddess Cybele, an ancient fertility goddess cave culture, were able to enter the hell gate without any apparent damage but even they were forbidden after military rule took over.

According to D’Andria, the site was a famous destination for rites of dream incubations for healing. Pilgrims took the waters in the pool near the temple, slept not too far from the cave and received visions and prophecies, in a sort of Oracle of Delphi effect. Indeed, the fumes coming from the depths of Hierapoli’s phreatic groundwater produced hallucinations. In pre-history, no fumed were needed in goddess cultures, and these caves were not used, only after military (religious) men took control over everything in society, and women began to lose their natural visionary gifts, were these caves used.

From the 1st to the 4th century ce these types of methods were used, because the losses of 2,500 bce until the 1st century (christ era’s), they were never used by women, they were only used by the eldest women to keep the gates of the underworld closed, it was men who opened the gates of hell, it was the Emperor Justinian of the Byzantines who opened the gate to hell.

During the 6th century ce, the Plutonium was obliterated by the Christians and the beginning of the darkest ages of humanity because of military-religous men campaigns of killing, plagues, middle ages, dark ages of forbidden all women of all rights in culture and making them slaves. Thus this lead to the Earthquakes completing the destruction.

Phoenix the Elder walks the archaic path of the “Midnight Sun” which is the shaman grandmother’s traditions of the living phases of the moon’s cyclical nature; the ancient woman’s bird cultures (soul & dreaming); serpent’s medicine (transformational healing of the soul); and spider (weaver of soul & healing for regeneration). Baba is the universal word for grandmother and in Slavic and Balkan traditions before paganism, she was the direct lineage to what is known as Bone Mother. This is the Soul’s death, so often required for the processes of detoxifying and regeneration (karmic purification) into its purified rebirth.

Phoenix Flowers 3 2016Phoenix was fated this lifetime from birth as the next dreamer in her family’s lineage and accepted the calling as a humble servant to mother earth as Szeptun (Szeptucha, Whisperer) in Polish and Mol’farka in Ukraine; Shaman to many other cultures. Her elders were from Tyczyn, Poland, a Podkarpackie Voivodeship in Rzeszów and Lubaczów near the border of Ukraine.

Her initiation journey began at birth which continued until all was completed at 57 years old at the beginning of 2016. Having undergone four decades of death initiations including physical deaths, soul sicknesses, soul sickness visions, homelessness, mental break-throughs, a long self healing purification processes, chaos medicines, demonic attacks and rebirths, a survival of karmic purification.

This work-study is a personal one on one teaching, guidance, direction and practices with monthly meetings by phone or skype. Phoenix helps people advance into the trinity of “healing” along side their dream work, with understanding the differences and subtle, learning to value the “dreamer” experience. She adds practices and folk healing towards the emotional healing work which we all must do. The integration of our dreams and our personal issues, or fears hold us back when life knocks on the door again with new “change”.
